Finding a toilet when out and about can be challenging for people with bladder or bowel problems, including children. It could even discourage some families from going out altogether.

Our toilet card clearly states that the holder has a medical condition and needs to use the toilet quickly. Most places you visit will be willing to help you.

Did you know, Google Maps on your phone can also help you find your closest public toilet or petrol station? Just type in toilet, petrol station, or any amenity you are looking for (such as a library) and it will search for you!

Or try the CamperMate app, which includes locations outside the city centres. Designed for travellers, the app locates public toilets and other amenities.

Changing Places - Accessible Bathrooms

Changing Places New Zealand (Changing Places NZ) was formed in 2017 to provide fully accessible bathroom facilities in public places throughout New Zealand. Changing Places NZ is based on the Changing Places Consortium which built over one thousand fully accessible public bathrooms in the United Kingdom since 2006.

There are over 1000 Changing Places in the UK and dozens more in Australia. There are currently seven Changing Places in New Zealand.
